- Why does one chicken have a naked butt? She molted in February and her butt feathers never came back. First pic is today, April 10, second is mid February. Third is a pic of her and some flock mates in case there’s anything else I’m not noticing. No other birds have any sparseness in their feathers. submitted by /u/According_Mobile_476 [link] [comments]
- What's up here? I've checked and preventatively treated for mites and lice havent found anythe one missing the most feathers is blanch and her skin isn't irritated at all. the sides of my roosters neck are bald in patches and all their feathers look rough. I'm thinking molt as they are about the age for it ( a year old now ) and their egg production has greatly decreased, along with me learning constant light is bad for them, now I keep them on for roughly 13-16 hours a day and turn them off at night. submitted by /u/mindyourownbusiness5 [link] [comments]
- What is going on here and what do I do?Hey everyone, I noticed something was going on with my chicken’s butt today but I don’t know what it is. Any ideas? I gave her butt a soak in some warm water with epsom salts and tried to trim the feathers back to get a better look, but unfortunately my scissors were pretty dull, so hopefully you can see it from the pictures. I tried to massage it and it seems mostly fluid filled and squishy but there may be some hardness as well on the underside. Her vent looks clear, the area in question is a few inches below it. She is not lethargic and seems to be acting normally. Barb is a buff Orpington who is slightly over 4 years old and would love to be in tip top shape again soon. Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/overbakedchef [link] [comments]
