Someone dumped this guy at my local park… just wondering what breed they could be?

| I brought them back from the verge of death/hypothermia with a hair dryer and syringe-fed water… I figure probably a meat chicken. I have them set up with some food and water in a Guinea pig cage upstairs until the morning when rescues are open. I’ll find one to take them then. [link] [comments] |

- chicken breed?Anyone know what breed this fella is? I know absolutely nothing about chickens and work at a horse lesson barn, i think someone dumped her(?) about a week ago. She showed up in one of the pastures with a rooster, but the rooster disappeared and she stuck around. She gets pretty close to us but wont let us pick her up, so I'm assuming she's been around people before. I think my coworker owns chickens at her own farm and brought chicken food for us to give her, but i was curious on what she was lol. I think once we can manage to pick her up, the coworker with chickens was gonna try integrating her into their home group of chickens so she isn't just alone here. She doesn't seem to mind being on her own at least, she's befriended most of our horses lol. Thanks in advance if anyone knows anything about what she is! submitted by /u/SeveralTry3967 [link] [comments]
- random chicken left with my little flock this afternooncan anyone tell me what kind of chicken he is AND WHAT I SHOULD DO?! i live in the city, whoever brought him knew exactly where i live- i don't know if they found someone else's chicken and assumed it was ours? or if the owner just decided to unload a rooster on us? we can't have roosters in the city. submitted by /u/fairytotheworld [link] [comments]
- I was given a chickenHi, my folks have always loved chickens and recently they stumbled upon a group of mixed chicks for free on marketplace. A two were very sick and one didn’t make it but I managed to nurse one back to health. Little guy follows me everywhere and is very friendly despite what I thought I knew about roosters. My only problem is that I don’t know what kind he is or if he’s mixed. Help would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/unsolved_Rubiks_cube [link] [comments]
- Found dumped/escaped roo with a cut beak? And hole in head?? And maybe a blind eye? People or chicken damagehi! found this dude in my neighborhood. we have feral chickens but they are all in really good shape unlike this new guy. he's got a huge scab on his scalp (presumably from bullying), a literal hole (see last image, it's dry and... deep?), at least one maybe blind eye, and his beak is both cut and it looks like he got the top surface of it shaved down?? (you can see it best on photo 5 I think) I assumed based on all that that he was somebodies. unless a chicken can damage their beak like that by themselves. anyway, he scampered away from me the first time I noticed him Sunday, but he only ran for a few feet before going back to laying down. he has very little energy and could not roost. he can't jump, either. so I grabbed him last night to give him at least some time in a pen with food and water. and I'm glad I did, he didn't have hardly any food in him for the night. he's currently eating and drinking. he isn't crowing at all. which is probably a blessing because Im not allowed roosters where I live. if anyone has any ideas about what life he used to lead, any ideas on what he needs to bounce back, any help at all would be appreciated. not sure what my plan for him long term is, if there is a long term for him. but I'm doing what I can. submitted by /u/ohboybugs [link] [comments]
