What Kind of Chicken is This?

I rescued this young Chicken from a busy grocery store parking lot. Does anyone have any idea what breed it may be? Or is it a mix? Also, is there any way to tell if it is a hen or roo? I always had Polish, which were easy to sex. I suspect he/she is close to 8 weeks old, but not 100% sure. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
