Waited all day to catch this one.
Our take
After a long day of anticipation, we finally welcomed our newest feathered friend into the world! We’ve been on edge, checking in every few hours since we spotted that little pip over eight hours ago. This is our first adventure in hatching chickens, and we couldn’t be more excited! This little one is a delightful mix of Silkie and Easter Egger, while the others in the hatch are a charming combo of Easter Egger x Silkie and Silkie x Mystic Marans. To add to the fun, we’ve also staggered the hatch times for our button quail, ensuring a lively chaos in our coop. Join us in celebrating this egg-citing moment as we embark on our journey with our quirky feathered friends!

- Rainbow Hatch (Pic Dump)Our resident rooster wasn't getting the job done —we only had 1 fertile egg out of 13 in our test run, so we ordered a "Rainbow Pack" of 18 eggs from a breeder, and yesterday was hatch day. We’ve had 14 healthy chicks hatch so far, and the variety is amazing. We got a surprise Lavender Marans and one of our eggs labeled as bresse popped out a blue chick, so we sorted it as an easter egger for now. Figured I would share some pics i took while getting them banded and sorted. The Lineup: Wheaten Ameraucanas: Red and Orange bands Crested Cream Legbars: These guys are auto-sexing, so we already know we have 2M (Blue bands) and 2F (Pink bands). Easter Eggers: Grey and Blue bands Bresse: White and Black bands Lemon Pyle Brahma: Yellow band (Already a absolute unit compared to the others). Marans: Green and Brown for the Black Coppers, and a Clear band for the Lavender Marans! submitted by /u/TysMcK15 [link] [comments]
