Candling can be a bit of a mystery, especially when you’re hoping for tiny ducklings to emerge. Six days ago, spotting those tiny veins and the heartbeat must have been egg-citing! While the picture might not be crystal clear, don’t hesitate to seek advice from fellow chicken lovers. Together, we can crack the code of your candling confusion! Let’s help you figure this out and keep the egg-citing journey going!

| Learning to candle I have what I can only assume is now a broody momma duck (I understand this is a chicken group) I candled eggs 6 days ago and the egg looked great could see tiny veins and what looked like a heart beat today I candled one after I smelt stink in the nest so I assume a bad egg but this other egg I can’t tell but I have a feeling it’s not alive anymore can anyone tell from this photo I know it’s not a good picture! - Hatching chicks first timeHello! I irresponsibly allowed my broody hen to just sit on some eggs without really checking on them the whole time. We are now at the point where they should be hatching… Two of the 4 are characteristically entirely opaque with the air pocket on one side. The other two are basically not at all but do show a dark shaded area… Are you guys of the opinion that they are not developing or is there some possibility that they are? Not seeing veins… I apologize for poor photos and my first time candling submitted by /u/CoverFig4662 [link] [comments]
- Are my eggs ok??At our school, all of the second grade classes are hatching ducks. Everyone has a different incubator from me. I have Brinsea - it doesn’t let me see the humidity level which is really worrisome. I’ve done everything right, but all of my eggs look like the first picture. All of my coworkers’s eggs are like the second picture. Are mine all dead? Or are they just somehow lagging behind? The internet is scaring and making me think they all have the ring of death. I will literally cry if that’s the case. The kids will be so upset and confused. submitted by /u/LeopardCivil2604 [link] [comments]
