Help with injured hens

Our take

Are your hens in a feather-ruffling situation with injuries or bald spots? You’re not alone! Many chicken enthusiasts face the challenge of pecking and injuries within their flock, and it can feel like a plucky poultry puzzle. Despite trying Hen Healer, Veterycin, and no-pick spray, it seems the pecking party just won’t stop! Isolating the most injured hens hasn’t yielded the results you hoped for, and mating saddles are proving to be more of a distraction than a solution. With the rooster in timeout and the hens feeling distressed, it’s time to explore fresh ideas to keep your feathered friends safe and sound. Let’s brainstorm some cluck-tastic solutions to help your flock thrive and regain their happy, healthy vibes!

Looking for some help on injured/bald spots on the backs/bellies of a few of our hens. We've used the Hen Healer blue ointment, veterycin, no pick spray, nothing seems to stop other hens or even themselves from picking at it. we put the most injured in isolation for a couple weeks and didnt see any changes. we've tries mating saddles but the roo just moves them out of the way and still tears them up. He's currently in isolation but the hens are quite upset about that. Just trying to figure out other things to try, it feels like our whole flock is just getting tore up by each other.
