Found the secret stash

Our take

Oh, the adventures of backyard chicken ownership never cease to amaze! Recently, I noticed my Olive Egger had gone on a little egg-laying hiatus. But today, while hauling some items from the front yard, I stumbled upon a hidden treasure: a secret stash of eggs nestled behind some old window frames! To my delight, I found seven olive eggs and two from my lovely Lavender Orpingtons. It seems my Olive Egger has been enjoying some "conjugal visits" with the neighbor’s rooster—how scandalous! I checked those eggs with a flashlight and, thankfully, saw no signs of development. They’re now safely in the fridge, and I can’t resist sharing a cuddly pic of my Lavender for some added charm!

Found the secret stash

Noticed my Olive Egger hadn’t been laying in the coop for the past week or so. Today I was hauling some stuff from the front yard to the back yard and one of my Lavender Orpingtons jumped out of this jungle that was behind some old window frames. I barely glanced and could see a pile of eggs. 7 olives and two from my lavenders in this spot.

My Olive Egger has been having conjugal visits with the next door neighbor’s rooster the past couple of weeks and he’s taken a liking to her specifically. I checked these eggs with a bright flashlight and didn’t see anything resembling development, plus she hasn’t been able to sit on them overnight since she goes into the coop at dusk. We check for eggs every couple of days so I am certain this spot is new and these eggs went into the fridge.

Cuddly lavender pic for a bonus
