First time incubating our own eggs! Brahma x Prairie Bluebell
Our take
What an egg-citing adventure! This weekend, we took our first dive into the world of incubation, and let me tell you, it was a cluck-tastic experience! Out of 18 eggs, 12 little fluffballs made their grand entrance, and the joy of watching them pip their way to freedom was absolutely heartwarming. Our feathered family includes Brahma, Prairie Bluebell, and a cheeky Leghorn hen, all under the watchful eye of our Prairie Bluebell rooster. These adorable hybrids are sure to bring plenty of charm and character to our flock. If you’ve ever considered hatching your own eggs, I highly recommend it! Nothing beats the thrill of those tiny beaks breaking through the shell. So stinkin' cute, right?

| 12 of 18 eggs hatched! such a fun weekend watching them pip their way out & get all fluffy :) our females are brahma, prairie bluebell & one leghorn . The rooster is prairie bluebell so these are definitely some hybrid chickens !! So stinkin cute [link] [comments] |

- Our new babies. Breeding project.Out of the 5 of our eggs we incubated, these are the three chicks. One never internally pipped and the other never externally pipped. I had to assist hatch one of these. Unfortunately didn’t catch the 4th in time. BUT! I present our 2 Game Brahma chicks and 1 Gameraucana! For those new here the mothers are a Dark Brahma and a Silver Ameraucana. The father is a green legged gamefowl and BOY are his genes strong because all 3 of these babies look pretty much the same! Only difference is the Game Brahma chicks have feathered legs and the Gameraucana doesn’t. Very cool! Can’t wait to see how they develop and look as they age! The Gameraucana is the one with the little leg band. submitted by /u/Safe_Letterhead543 [link] [comments]
- First 2 hatches of my breeding project! These two literally hatched together at the same time lol. These two are a cross between my Dark Brahma hen and Green-legged Hatch Game Fowl rooster. I’m calling them “Game Brahmas”. They look kind of like their mom when she was a chick but also….not. And I know you can’t see but they have feathered feet/ legs! My roo also has a muff and it looks like one of them might! submitted by /u/Safe_Letterhead543 [link] [comments]
- Rainbow Hatch (Pic Dump)Our resident rooster wasn't getting the job done —we only had 1 fertile egg out of 13 in our test run, so we ordered a "Rainbow Pack" of 18 eggs from a breeder, and yesterday was hatch day. We’ve had 14 healthy chicks hatch so far, and the variety is amazing. We got a surprise Lavender Marans and one of our eggs labeled as bresse popped out a blue chick, so we sorted it as an easter egger for now. Figured I would share some pics i took while getting them banded and sorted. The Lineup: Wheaten Ameraucanas: Red and Orange bands Crested Cream Legbars: These guys are auto-sexing, so we already know we have 2M (Blue bands) and 2F (Pink bands). Easter Eggers: Grey and Blue bands Bresse: White and Black bands Lemon Pyle Brahma: Yellow band (Already a absolute unit compared to the others). Marans: Green and Brown for the Black Coppers, and a Clear band for the Lavender Marans! submitted by /u/TysMcK15 [link] [comments]
