Backyard build almost done
Our take
After much anticipation, my backyard project is almost complete! I decided to remodel my garage and repurpose some old cabinets to create a chicken coop, but my wife had other ideas for something a bit nicer. Armed with just a sketch and a sprinkle of inspiration from my dad, who raised chickens and turkeys, I dove into this build with enthusiasm. As a white-collar guy, I’m pretty proud of what I’ve accomplished so far! While I still need to lay pavers and stones around the coop, the six-week-old chicks have finally moved out of the garage and are thriving in their new home. Sure, the doors are warping a bit, but that’s a minor detail—I’m just excited to see my feathered friends loving their space!

| Remodeled my garage and was going to use old cabinets to build a coop. Wife wanted something nicer (I swear it would’ve been good) ended up with this. No plans, just made a sketch and went for it. My dad kept chickens/turkeys so I wasn’t totally green. Happy with how it turned out. I’m a white collar guy so I’m pretty proud of this build. Not really finished, going to lay pavers and stones around it, but it’s done for now. 6 week old chicks finally out of the garage and loving it. Doors warping a little but I’ll take care of it [link] [comments] |
