2nd update on my sick chicken (advice always appreciated)
Our take

| I have taken all your advice (given her scrambled eggs, garlic and apple cider vinegar solution in water, salt water, hot water bottle in a pet carrier at night, preventing drafts) and also many more. She has more energy but is still moving slowly and has the need to sleep often. I am trying to get as much food and water down her as possible, her poo is more solid. Iām not sure if itās just me but does her comb look a little lighter than before too? Another question but should she be laying eggs (she isnāt)? Ok actually last question, how long should I quarantine her before letting her mix with the other chickens (we have 10 in total)? I know nobody asked for this update but here it is if anyone wants to know. As I always say, advice is greatly appreciated and thanks to anyone who has already given advice or words of encouragement!!! [link] [comments] |

- Need advice: sick chickenFirst picture is yesterday: She was weak, with her eyes closed shut, panting. Gave her electrolytes and vitamins with water via syringe and Ticon S. Second picture is yesterday night: I thought she would pass on her sleep, but she stopped panting and actually started making sounds and slept through the night while repositioning her neck and moving away from the fan that was near her to keep her from panting. Third is today: Sheās still fighting, I can feel sheās tired but she moves her head and has stood up to reposition. No eyes opening yet, but she hasnāt had anything to eat today or drink. I tried tempting her to drink with droplets and on her beak but that didnāt work. Iām thinking on doing subcutaneous fluids, not sure yet. Any recommendations? I have no avian vet near me. - Forth update on my sick chicken; sheās better but Iām getting worriedWhat is happening to her? For some context, I let her outside and she was outside for around an hour and a half. Iāve just brought her back in and Iāve fed her some water with some nutrients in it. Sheās been doing this all day and Iām not sure what is happening. Hopefully itās the same as the gargle noise and itās nothing bad, but Iām just a bit worried. submitted by /u/Shot-Location-4283 [link] [comments]
- Update: Chicken still sick, canāt walk or stand. She can perchMy poor Pickles went to the vet, laid an egg, (I thought she was egg bound), sheās been getting around the clock care in quarantine, but she still canāt walk, she can perch on a dowel, but thatās it. She is eating at least one scrambled egg a day, not really drinking but if I string water over her beak she drinks. Her poops looked normal this morning, yesterday they were mixed, some normal, some watery. Itās been 6 days of this. WTH?? This is her little set up. Any ideas? submitted by /u/LemonyFresh108 [link] [comments]
