Aruba Hotel Recs?

Going to be in Aruba in June for a surprise anniversary/birthday trip for wife. What would be recommendations for hotel? I was thinking about staying at privada stays for a little bit of trip to save money and then stuck on other part. Want it to be memorable but not bankrupt us. Been looking at Boardwalk Boutique Hotel which looks very nice but not right on beach. Also seen Manchebo Resort. What would you recommend us do? I don’t really want an all inclusive as I want to explore the authentic culture and food of the island.
