Wyandotte bantam newbie questions incoming
Our take
Exciting times ahead with your new trio of Wyandotte bantam hens! It sounds like they’re already enjoying their new grass paradise and chowing down at the Omlet feeder—cluck-tastic! Now, about that nipple drinker: don’t fret just yet. It’s completely normal for young chicks to take a little time to figure out their new watering system. Chickens can be a bit cautious, especially when it comes to unfamiliar gadgets. Keep demonstrating the nipple drinker by giving those silver buttons a gentle push, and consider offering them a shallow dish of water nearby as a backup. They’ll catch on in no time! Just give them a bit of patience and watch them strut their stuff! Happy chicken-keeping!

| We picked up our three 12 week old bantam hens (we hope today) and they’re loving the grass (never been on it) and feeding well from the Omlet feeder. My question to you all is whether I should be concerned they don’t appear to have figured out the Omlet nipple drinker. I’ve observed them quite a bit today and tried to demo the nipple drinker to them by pushing the silver buttons. But so far they don’t seem interested. Should I be concerned yet? They’ve been in my care for 10 hours now [link] [comments] |
