What time of the day should I let my chickens out of the coop?
Our take
Ah, the age-old question of when to let your feathered friends out of the coop! It seems you’ve stumbled into a classic chicken conundrum—balancing their morning freedom with your egg-laying expectations. If you’re anything like me, you want to avoid the drama of rogue hens venturing to the neighbor’s yard for their egg-laying rendezvous. The magic hour is often just after sunrise; this allows your chickens to enjoy the fresh morning air while still encouraging them to lay their eggs in the cozy confines of the coop. Try letting them out a little later, observing their behavior, and tweaking your timing based on when they seem most inclined to cluck in the coop.

| I free range my chickens, and for some reason I have like six of them that refuse to lay eggs in the coop if I let them out before they lay their egg, if I leave them in the coop then they will lay their eggs where I want them to otherwise they decide they need to go to my neighbor's house, I don't want to leave them in there longer than I have to so I would like to know about what time you guys would let them out if they were your chickens and you were having the same issue.
