Roost placement?

Our take

When it comes to creating the perfect roosting environment for your feathered friends, placement is key! In a cozy 4x4 coop designed for 4-5 hens, you'll want to ensure your roosts are both functional and comfortable. Aim for a height of around 24 to 36 inches – this gives your hens a nice view while they settle in for the night, allowing them to feel safe and secure. Space the roosts at least 12 inches apart to prevent any fowl disputes over prime real estate. Consider placing them parallel to the coop walls for easy access and cleaning. And remember, your hens will appreciate a sturdy perch that allows them to fluff their feathers without fear of a sudden drop! Happy roosting!

Roost placement?

Recently got a new to me coop and am considering getting rid of the dropping board and just installing two new roosts.

Any suggestions for height and placement? Coop is 4x4 and will be for 4-5 hens
