Our take

Enter the Prairie Bluebells and Polish “chicks” — oh, how I’m absolutely obsessed! These feathered friends bring a whole new level of cluck-tastic joy to my backyard. Prairie Bluebells, with their stunning plumage and friendly personalities, are simply irresistible. And let’s not forget the Polish breed, flaunting their quirky hairdos that make them the divas of the coop! My journey into the realm of these delightful breeds has been filled with egg-citing discoveries and a few hilarious moments. Join me as I navigate this delightful adventure, one peck at a time!

- Chicken combo? (Flock 🐓🐓🐓 not bucket 🍗)I’ve not had a flock for years (since last big avian flu flu outbreak in the uk) but after reading Arthur Parkinson’s brilliant Hen party, I have the bug again. I’ve had cream legbars (love), silver and blue laced Wyandottes, lavender araucanas, and a few hybrids (eg Bluebells, marans etc) but I will NOT do leghorns again. Throw me some harmonious combinations for a small (5-6) flock that can’t be too flighty- I have large trees and hedges and I back onto woodland- and tell me all about your favourite breeds and why they’d make good candidates! submitted by /u/HeisenBird1015 [link] [comments]
- I’m currently working on a new breed(1st pic) I had a pure bred black and white polish and a silkie and this little fella came out. Really good feather structure and a coop, but most important his skull is normal. It takes a couple of generations to get what I’m looking for but this is a great start. (2’d pic) is a silkie x creamlegbar mix which doesn’t have the best colour pattern but her tail and wing feathers are transparent which I haven’t seen before. Lets hope it ain’t recessive and dissapears in later generations. Although the colour pattern is off, it still looks beautiful The others are Brahmas which I want to use to create a larger size polish breed submitted by /u/sparrio [link] [comments]
