Needing to rehome my flock of 12.
Our take

| I’ve had chickens since I was ten and I’ve loved every second of it. These 12 are my babies and this breaks my heart and is the last thing I’d ever want to do, but I have to let them go. The sooner the better. My living situation has become untenable with my family and I’m the only one who cares for them, so I’m posting here in the hopes that someone can rehome them locally where I am in Douglas MA. I’m unable to drive but if you are willing to come pick them up then I don’t mind. I have 6 older birds who still lay occasionally, two Cochins, a Brahma Cochin mix, an Easter egger, and a buff Orpington and light Brahma. They’re all so sweet and gentle and don’t mind being held or hand fed. My blue Cochin is also a fantastic momma and will gladly raise a brood for you without any outside help needed. I also have 5 one year old birds who are laying like crazy as it’s their first spring. A light Brahma, black sex link, a silver laced Wyandotte, and two rhodies along with my Easter egger rooster who although is a bit testy is very pretty and good to his hens. I’m willing to part with everything. I have food bins, a chicken first aid kit, some old waterers, an extra bag of feed, pine shavings, diatomaceous earth, sunflower seeds, etc. Heck if you want to you can even take the coop. It’s in decent condition; just can’t be used as a tractor anymore. Again, you can have all this for free. All I ask is that I see pictures and videos of your setup for them so I know they’ll be going to a good home. Feel free to ask for more pictures or any other questions. They’d make a great starter flock. They all have such goofy and individual personalities. Especially my older girls. They’re all very happy and healthy too. So yeah. Free flock of 12 healthy chooks to a good home :( [link] [comments] |

- SoCal Rehoming: 4 Beloved Young Laying Hens (3 Ameraucanas & 1 Easter Egger) — Must Stay Together 🪺4 Beloved Young Laying Hens (3 Ameraucanas & 1 Easter Egger) — Must Stay Together 🐓 I’m looking for a truly wonderful home for my four beloved hens. I’m being relocated for work to an area that doesn’t allow backyard chickens (no fencing is permitted either, I can’t even try to hide them), so I’m unable to bring them with me. This is a very thoughtful rehoming. I hand-raised them from tiny chicks, and they are deeply loved. • 3 purebred Ameraucanas (Lavender, Splash, Black) + 1 Easter Egger (Golden Brown) • Purchased from My Pet Chicken (likely sourced from Meyer Hatchery) • Born May 19, 2025 • Marek’s Disease vaccinated • Consistently laying ~20 beautiful blue and green eggs per week since December I call the ladies ‘The Flightless Gemstones.’ Amber 🤎, Jade 🖤, Opal 🩶, and Pearl 🤍. They are a sweet, quiet, and peaceful flock with an established bond — they must stay together. They’re gentle and very comfortable with people of all ages, including children. My black Ameraucana is especially affectionate and will hop onto your lap and snuggle. They’ve been part of our daily life and are used to a calm, consistent routine. Each one has her own personality, and they bring so much charm and quiet joy. I’m hoping to find someone who already has a safe, well-kept setup and understands how special a small, balanced flock can be. The right home matters much more than speed. Please share a bit about your setup and experience when you reach out. Located in Monterey Park (East LA / San Gabriel Valley, California). I’m also saying goodbye to their full setup separately: Omlet Eglu coop, 12’ x 6’ Omlet walk-in run, and supplies. submitted by /u/Polishment [link] [comments]
- Free chickens - need to rehomeMy son’s family moved to a new town on Long Island and the town does not allow chickens to free range at all, so they want to re-home for the sake of the chickens. They have 6 healthy and great egg- laying Orpington chickens and 2 Old English Bantum Game Hens. They are 1 year old and know how to go back to their run and coop themselves when it starts to get dark. They are friendly and can be handled. They are healthy and hardy - survived this cold winter with no added heat in the coop. They can be split up if needed. Free to a good home. Their coop and run was built from online design if someone wants to try to take it apart and move it and rebuild. It was a Third Coast Craftsman I believe. submitted by /u/rname333 [link] [comments]
