Is this chick actually what they claimed?
Our take
Is this chick actually what they claimed? Meet our feathered friend who’s just three weeks old, soon to be four! The first two pictures showcase what I was told is a Midnight Majesty Marans. Initially, I thought this chick might be a rooster due to its striking white markings. However, I’ve learned that they shouldn’t have bright yellow legs—yet this one does! The last two pictures feature another chick without the yellow legs and with some feathering starting on its legs. I’m puzzled if there’s been a mix-up in breeds. If you think the chick in the last two pictures might also be a roo, let me know! I’d appreciate any insights on this cluck-tastic conundrum!

| (they’re 3 weeks will be 4 weeks next week) 1st two pics are of what I was told was a midnight Majesty Maren, At first i thought this was a rooster because of the white, but from why i understand they shouldn’t have yellow legs? this one has bright yellow legs where the one in the last two pics does not. the one in the second two pics also has feathering starting on the legs. (if you think the one in the last two pics is a roo let me know also, he’s grown the same as all the others, doesn’t bother any of them, grew feathers at the same time etc) i’m confused if this was a mix up or what! Any insight welcomed! [link] [comments] |
