I know- lay or crow… but any guesses?
Our take
Welcome to the whimsical world of chicken keeping! At just nine weeks into your feathered adventure, you've already stumbled upon the delightful chaos that is a straight run. With a surprisingly high rooster count from Cackle Hatchery's "crazy cackle zombie" mix, you're in for a treat! You’ve got two charming candidates, both nearing the big 9-week mark, and a third who just started showcasing his crowing talents. While none are displaying the classic rooster posturing yet, their quirky personalities shine through in their playful "get off me" antics. It's tough to think about letting any of them go, but that’s the reality of chicken life. Join the fun and share your guesses—let’s solve this clucky mystery together! 🐔✨

| I’m 9 weeks in to chickens and learning straight run is risky. Seems we ended up with a high roo count out of the batch. These 2 are from cackle hatchery their “crazy cackle zombie” mix, we have a 3rd that looks like the black one but he just started his silly sounding crowing this week. Both of these are 9 weeks old in 2 days. Neither have shown any of the posturing behavior, more “get off me” when others are annoying like the confirmed pullers- but then again so did the 3rd that just started crowing. 🙃 I hate ya can’t keep them all. Thanks in advance for the guesses. Multiple pics of each one to try and assist. [link] [comments] |
