i have a great idea for owners of noisy chickens
Our take
If you’re a suburban chicken owner like me, you know that those early morning clucks can ruffle more than just feathers—especially when neighbors are trying to enjoy a peaceful morning. I found a cluck-tastic solution to keep my noisy hens happy and my neighbors smiling! By using an automatic cat feeder filled with chicken scratch, I’ve created a delightful breakfast routine. The feeder dispenses a little treat every 15 minutes from 7 to 8 a.m., keeping my feathered friends occupied until their automatic door opens. With a 5-gallon hopper, I can fill it up and forget about it, ensuring my hens stay quiet during those crucial early hours. Happy hens, happy neighbors—what more could you ask for?
i live in the suburbs with three neighbors around me. i feel bad because my hens are SO loud in the morning before their automatic door opens. my solution? i purchased an automatic cat feeder. i put chicken scratch in the feeder and have it drop a little bit every 15 mins (7-8am) until their door opens. now my hens are quiet and my neighbors are happy. i use a 5 gallon hopper to keep it full.
