Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out because I think I’ve reached a level of obsession that most people wouldn’t understand. I have been a massive chicken lover since I was a kid. To me, they are the most beautiful creatures on earth—especially roosters, though I love hens and chicks just as much.

I live in a village, and honestly, my family isn't fond of them at all. I’ve had to fight to keep them, but I’ve faced so much heartbreak. I’ve lost birds to disease, predators, and even theft. Every time I lose them, I tell myself I’ll stop, but I never do. My passion is so deep that I once traveled five cities away just to catch a glimpse of a specific rooster I heard about.

I spend 8 to 10 hours a day just thinking about chickens. I can watch them for hours without getting bored. It’s at a point where I even dream about them.

It has even influenced my major life decisions. I’ve decided to stay single because many people nowadays seem to think they are "too cool" to live a life surrounded by poultry. I’d rather be alone with my birds than with someone who doesn't respect my passion.

The problem is the "urge." Every time I see a new breed, a beautiful rooster, or a healthy hen, I feel like I must have it. But I’m facing a reality check: I’m running out of space, and my budget is tight.

How do you guys deal with this level of obsession? How do you control the desire to keep buying more when you know you don't have the resources or the space? Is anyone else this "crazy" about their birds, and how do you find a balance?

I’d love to hear your advice.
