Hen Extremely Weak
Our take
 | My hen, Hufflepuff, was never thriving. She’s always been a little weaker and slower than the other two that bully her but nothing crazy noticeable. I noticed a dirty bum over winter and treated her for parasites and coccidiosis consecutively with no change. Her comb has never been bright red, always pale or ashy pink. I noticed her bright blue/teal poop a few weeks ago and according to Google it meant she was starving. It was hard to notice she wasn’t eating or drinking since I have a full-time job and there was no sunlight when I was home. Now I’m hand feeding and hydrating her but she’s not getting much better. She is still extremely underweight. I have her inside as much as possible. She has a vet appointment for Wednesday evening. It’s the earliest we can make. I just hope that she’s not suffering. She is currently napping on my couch and my friend is watching her - see video. If anyone has any advice or shared experiences we could learn from or try for I would be so appreciative to hear about them. She is so weak at the moment and can’t even jump over curbs without stumbling.I am liquifying her food and also giving her water that she drinks. I force fed her some grit because her crop seemed hard but she is definitely passing stool. She had 3 grapes today and some worms and a few pipettes of liquidied feed so far today as well as water. P who sadly disappeared in December. - I need helpHi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on one of my hens. She’s a female, just about a year old, and recently I’ve noticed she’s not looking as well as the rest of my flock. Her comb is a bit darker than the others, and there seems to be some mild swelling in her face along with small speckles on it. Behavior-wise, she’s definitely off. She tends to stay away from the roosters and avoids any related interactions, sits puffed up in the corner a lot, and isn’t very active. When I come near, she runs to me, tries to hide, and wants to be picked up constantly. She just doesn’t seem like she’s thriving the way she used to. She is still showing interest in food and water and appears to be eating and drinking normally. For context: • The rest of the flock appears completely healthy • No signs of mites or lice • I recently treated the flock for coccidiosis (another hen had it) • I’ve checked her feathers and vent thoroughly and didn’t find anything abnormal initially. (more on this later in the post.) • I also recently had another hen isolated for a possible respiratory infection and wry neck I’d appreciate any guidance possible. She’s quite special to me. And I will do whatever I can to help her. Please help. Recent update….. I isolated her from the flock and started her on some basic vitamins, vitamin E B12 and selenium as well as antibiotics. She’s on day 5 and today a few days ago I noticed she was pulling feathers out on her side upon further inspection. This is what the irritated area looks like…. I have since put a makeshift onesie on her out of a sock to keep her from accessing the area. But she doesn’t seem to be getting any better. - Please help!!My favorite hen peachy isn't feeling good. Her tail is bobbing and she's a bit lethargic. I examined her a bit and her crop is small and hard, she also started struggling to breath when I picked her up and tried to get away (this is the most cuddly chicken I've ever had she ADORES being held) I put her in the garage with water and the Internet told me not to give her solid food for 12-24 hours so I crushed up a boiled egg (without the shell) and gave that to her. I saw someone say online to feed a chicken with a bad crop some olive oil and massage the crop so I might try that tomorrow.
