Help! How'd my chicken die like this? (NSFW, no gore/blood, dead chicken depicted)
Our take
Today, I encountered a heart-wrenching situation with my beloved hen, Honey. After discovering her lifeless body outside, I was overwhelmed with grief, especially given her age and the health issues she had been facing. What truly astonished me was the peculiar position in which I found her; in all my years of chicken rearing, I’ve never witnessed a death pose quite like this. While I suspect she succumbed to natural causes or an unnoticed illness, I can’t help but wonder what might have led to her unusual resting position. If anyone has insights into how this could happen or what it might indicate about her passing, I would greatly appreciate your thoughts. Rest in peace, sweet Honey; you will always be remembered.
I went outside today to find my poor, beloved hen Honey dead today. She was an old hen who definitely developed a few health issues in her old age, but I'm stunned in how I found her body. I am almost certain she died of some natural cause or possibly an illness I didn't notice, but in all my years of chicken rearing I've never seen a death pose like this. Does anyone know how this position could have happened and how it could have related to her demise? I'm heartbroken. I'll always remember you, Honey; my sweet old lady. Rest in peace, sweetest bird.
