Fowl pox??

Our take

Fowl pox is a viral disease that can affect chickens, often manifesting initially with small black scab-like lesions on the comb and wattles. This condition can be alarming, especially when it escalates to severe symptoms, such as sudden blindness, as you’ve described. While fowl pox typically doesn’t show other signs in its early stages, the rapid progression to total blindness in your chicken is concerning and suggests that immediate care is necessary. Isolating your feathered friend was a wise choice, allowing you to monitor his condition closely. It's essential to consult a veterinarian for a proper diagnosis and treatment options. Remember, you’re not alone in this journey—many chicken keepers have faced similar challenges, and sharing experiences can lead to valuable insights and support.

this started out as a couple small black scab areas on the comb, then sudden and total blindness. He showed no other symptoms, I’ve had him separate so I can care for him since he can’t see, and now this. So, fowl pox?
