Easter Egger hen or roo?
Our take
Wondering whether your Easter Egger is a hen or a roo? You’re not alone! Many chicken enthusiasts have faced this delightful conundrum, especially when purchasing from local stores that promise sexed chicks but can’t guarantee 100% accuracy. In your case, the larger comb on your feathered friend could be a hint towards a rooster, as males typically develop more prominent combs than females. However, it’s not always a foolproof indicator. Easter Eggers are known for their quirky personalities and colorful eggs, making them a charming addition to any flock. Whether you end up with a clucking hen or a crowing roo, your backyard adventure just got a whole lot more exciting! Let’s embrace the mystery and enjoy the journey with our feathered friends.

| Got them from a local store and said they are sexed BUT of course not 100% accurate. this one has a larger comb than my other two. [link] [comments] |

- Male or Female? Easter Egger or Cream Legbar? Maybe a Mix?These girls (hopefully) are about 5 weeks old. They were sold to me as easter eggers but after looking at other posts they may be cream legbars? Or a mix of those two? I suspect one of them might be a roo. - Hen or Roo?These gals are probably around 10-12 weeks old. They were sexed at our local Wilco. 4 Easter Eggers out of the 6. I’m worried this one might be a roo. Body type is lankier, tail feathers are longer and getting a shade of green to them. No behavior though that would lead me to believe it’s a roo, FWIW. This is my first time with chickens. submitted by /u/LibrarianFlaky951 [link] [comments]
