Curious about outside!
Our take
It sounds like you’re on the brink of an exciting adventure with your feathered friends! With the coop set to be finished this weekend and temperatures hovering in the 40s and 50s, it seems like the perfect time to let your chickens stretch their wings outside. While 37°F might feel a bit chilly, your leghorns are generally pretty resilient. If they’ve been cozy in a 60°F basement, a gradual transition could help them adapt. However, if you’re worried about the cold snap, waiting a week might be wise to ensure they’re comfortable. Just think of all the cluck-tastic memories you’ll make once they’re finally outside! Whatever you decide, it’s clear that this chicken momma is ready for some outdoor fun.

| Our coop will be finished this weekend and the coldest temp with be 37 on monday. Other than that it will be 40s-50s! They’ve been off he and in a 60° basement. This chicken momma is READY for them to be out because I’m tired of chasing the leghorns around my basement since they get out of their Gaylord box, but I will miss them. Do we think the 37°F will be okay or wait another week? [link] [comments] |
