Found a rooster in my driveway yesterday
Our take
Yesterday, I found a rooster in my driveway, and the little guy has turned my world upside down! After posting on a local forum and getting no takers, I had to think on my feet. Thanks to some helpful redditors, he enjoyed a cozy car slumber party while I crafted a temporary home with a burn barrel and warm leaves. However, living near the woods has me clucking with worry about predators! I called local rescues and bird sanctuaries, but it seems chickens aren’t high on the priority list. Today, I’m off to the vet for some antibiotics to treat his pesky infection. I’m looking for long-term solutions since I don’t have a suitable setup for him. Any cluck-tastic ideas?
Found a rooster in my driveway yesterday and posted on my local forum but no one claimed him. I Didn’t know what to do overnight and he had a car slumber party as some redditors told me to do. Built him a little temp home with a burn barrel with some warm leaves but we live next to the woods and I’m afraid of the predators getting him!! Called some rescues and local bird sanctuary’s but I feel like chickens don’t qualify for like anything :( taking him to the vet today and ordered some antibiotics since he has an infection on his rump.
Any ideas on what to look into long term since I don’t have anywhere suitable for him?
