First ever fairy egg

Our take

Today brings a sprinkle of magic with the discovery of our very first fairy egg! While this delightful surprise lights up our spirits, it also comes with a heavy heart as we face the bittersweet reality of rehoming our beloved chickens. After a month-long battle with city regulations, we’ve sadly accepted that our feathered friends must find new homes by April 27th. We’re grateful our dear neighbor has taken in Henrietta, allowing us the joy of visiting her. The rest will find refuge at a sanctuary, though we won’t be able to see them again. Over the past four years, we’ve learned so much from our quirky flock, and we’re already dreaming of welcoming more chickens into our lives in the future! ❤️

I’m actually so excited that we got a fairy egg today! We have to rehome our chickens because our property is not zoned for them. After fighting the city for over a month we finally admitted defeat and they all have to be rehomed by April 27th. I’m very sad and will miss them dearly.

Our close neighbors took our oldest hen, Henrietta so we will be able to visit her and one of the other girls. The others are going to a sanctuary where we unfortunately won’t be able to visit.

We have learned so much about chickens in the past 4 years and we can’t wait to have more ❤️

Last picture: we took them on a little walk down the street lol and they hung out in the grass for a little while and ate worms.
