Chewy will no longer fill meds for chickens, ducks, turkeys or any "meat" animal
Our take
Attention, fellow chicken and poultry enthusiasts! I recently learned the hard way that Chewy has decided to no longer fill prescriptions for chickens, ducks, turkeys, or any "meat" animals. After my vet prescribed a life-saving medication for my beloved chicken, I was shocked to receive an email from Chewy denying the order without any prior notification to either my vet or me. This policy change can have serious implications for pet poultry owners who rely on Chewy for their feathered friends’ medical needs. Please help spread the word to ensure that no one else faces this unexpected roadblock when caring for their beloved birds. Let’s keep each other informed and support our community of chicken lovers!
I found this out the hard way when my vet had me order a life-saving medication through Chewy for my chicken. The vet was never notified by Chewy about this and nor was I. This just declined the medicine in an email for me and told the vet they no longer fill meds for "meat animals."
Please spread the word.
