Bald spot

Our take

Hey there, fellow chicken lovers! It sounds like Nikki's feathered friend is going through quite the feather-free ordeal. A bald spot can definitely be concerning, especially when it looks sore. It’s not uncommon for hens to experience feather loss due to pecking from roosters or stress, but the fact that it hasn’t grown back since winter raises a few eyebrows (and feathers). The good news? Chickens can take their sweet time when it comes to feather regrowth, but there are things Nikki can do to help her chicken feel more comfortable. Let’s dive into some cluck-tastic tips for healing and nurturing our feathered friends back to their fabulous selves! Your input could make a world of difference for Nikki and her little lady!

Hey everyone! My dad's chick has had this bald spot for months now. It most likely came from our rooster favoriting her but he's been gone since winter and she still hasn't grown ANY feathers back.. is it normal? Does it need more time? It looks so sore, too. I bet it must be so uncomfortable for her and if there's anything I could do to speed up healing or do anything else I'd love to know.
