29 dead chicks from Murray mcmurray, why?

So… you may remember me. I had ordered 29 chicks from Murray mc Murray and thought I had one survivor! She came in Friday and most of them died by Saturday night. She was eating, drinking, moving around, and seemed happy… then I wake up today, Wednesday morning, to her limp and gasping for air just like the rest right before they died. She was convulsing in her head occasionally and gasping, unresponsive. I kept her warm and tried to keep her neck mostly straight while she kept moving. She stiffened and passed in my hands.
What caused this? I have 8 1-2 week old tractor supply chicks thriving in the same conditions, and 6 other tractor supply chicks who are now a month old and I had only one loss. Why did I lose 29/29 but kept the other 13/14? I did some searching online but it all said respiratory infection- or just “failure to thrive”. Failure to thrive in 29 chicks? But also, respiratory infection in 29 chicks? Could it be from the shipping conditions? Shipping temperature? They came in a smaller than usual box because it is cold outside, Murray mc Murray standard, but at least 12 arrived dead. Some looked like they’d been dead… a while. Did this cause the infection?

- 2 week old chick passed during the night 💔We hatched 15 heritage Australorps and all 15 have been very healthy and happy. We did have to assist 2 with hatching. Last night one chick passed during the night. It had a relatively full, squishy crop. Butt area was clean. I checked for coccidiosis. They’re all fine. I was thinking sour crop potentially?? I know that it’s rather common to lose one or two, but I’d still like to know a possible cause. All of them were growing well and were very active. I’m also thinking maybe the heating plate was a little bit too cold last night and maybe they piled on top of each other and suffocated one??? The weather has unexpectedly gotten colder. QLD Australia for an idea. It’s not usually cold here What can I get them that isn’t antibiotics or other harsh synthetic medicine? I’ll give them some ACV in their water today Photos for attention. - Avoid Hoover’s HatcheryLast winter, as I was placing this year’s poultry orders for the small market farm I run, I couldn’t find any hatcheries with a ship date earlier than June, so I found Hoover’s with a May ship date. This hatchery supplies Rural King and Tractor Supply with birds. I usually use Murray Mcmurray, but between their bird availability and shipping dates, the logistics just weren’t going to work for my farm. Two of the 15 meat ducks I ordered were dead on arrival. 14 OF THE 20 MEAT CHICKENS, died within 36 hours of arrival. This isn’t even close to my first rodeo and I have never experienced mortality like this from any hatchery or business that sells chicks. We also got a variety of 7 chicks from Rural king the day they got their first chick shipment in. This was just to do a test run of our improved brooder setup, and 4 of those died from coccidiosis within 72 hours. Hoover’s is out here killing baby birds like it means nothing. Their customer service is great and they’re good about refunds, but their terrible husbandry practices cost my business hundreds of dollars of lost profits and it caused me a huge amount of stress and wasted time.
