2 week update from last post
Our take
Hey there, feathered friends enthusiasts! šāØ Itās been two weeks since our last cluck-tastic chat, and Iāve been buzzing with surprisesālike the chorus of feedback about buying a single chick as a pet! Totally understandable, though! Meet Curie and Pablo, my playful pals who bring joy even when Iām at work. Thankfully, my dad and the rest of the family are on chick duty during the day!
| | Was honestly surprised by the number of negative but understandable feedback about buying a single chick as a pet. This is Curie/Pablo, when Iām at work in the morning theyāre checked up on & accompanied by my dad. And the rest of my family during the day when I am out. Theyāre really playful and loves to perch around and relax with everyone around. I just hope I can give them a long happy life as an inexperienced owner [link] [comments] |

- Update the chick I found is doing greatMy last post https://www.reddit.com/r/chickens/s/B2Wf5RzWrs I live in Hawaii whereās thereās wild chickens and I found this gem Zoey ā„ļø It was exhausting trying to care for her at first when she was 1 day old and I didnāt have the right equipment. Things are easier now! Zoey is 9 or 10 days old now. She is definitely a girl. I feel like she needs chicken friends, but sheās healthy, happy, and she loves me. Iāve done a lot of research but itās my first time owning my own chicken any advice is appreciatedš I have a set up for her, but she doesnāt like to be alone because she needs a chick friend. I want to get another chick. He said he will build a coop in the backyard & he wants eggs. She thinks Iām her mom. Iām a momma hen lol. I know itās a girl for a fact Iāve studied and checked her butt. (My housemate hates roosters I had to make sure) iām raising her the best way I know how given that I found her unexpectedly when she was about one day old. She eats a lot, drinks a lot of water, and poops A LOT lol submitted by /u/rocklovelysocks [link] [comments]
- Iām finally one of you now š„¹My husband finally convinced me to get chickens. He built the coop/run, got the pen and heat lamp and food and wood shavings and everything else that goes along with getting chicks⦠and finally yesterday we took the plunge. We were only planning on getting 2 to start but the store had a 4-chick minimum so we got double what we planned for. Iām in love with these little babies but Iām also extremely nervous as a first time chicken owner!! PS my chihuahuas are absolutely obsessed with the chicks and are so gentle with them š„¹ submitted by /u/courtneyrel [link] [comments]
- Toys for chickens ?Hello everyone, My family recently saved 6 chickens from slaughter. And they are already SO AFFECTIONNATE ! They LOVE staying with us, go on our lap, lay near us... It's only been a few days and they already love us as much as we love them. Never seen that before I'm impressed ! They're also super curious. So I was thinking about offering them activities. Any ideas ? We want to give them a swing, a mirror... Anything else you think they could love ? Of course our priority is to make sure they put some weights and have better feathers. But I'm sure that could be fun for all of us to have activities :) I know they're not as playful as dogs and all but still ! Thanks and have a nice day ā” ( have a pic of two of them taking a sunbath right near me ā” ) submitted by /u/NeoSitdow [link] [comments]
